Orange Air is a Virtual Airline, set
up by and for flight-sim enthusiasts. Our goal is to let you have more fun
with your Microsoft Flight Simulator. We offer you timetables with flights
all over the world and some truly excellent aircraft.
You have the choice of flights from 10 Hubs operating worldwide.
CYUL-Montreal, EGLL-Heathrow, EHAM-Amsterdam, EHRD-Rotterdam, LFPG-Paris, LPPT-Lisbon, KLAX-Los
Angeles, TNCM-St Maárten, UUEE-Moscow and YSSY-Sydney. Orange Air also
has a Cargo Arm!
With such a great variety of HUB cities, that's over 1000 routes to choose from!
Remember here at OA we don’t hold you to only flying our aircraft or using our routes.
You can log ANY aircraft on ANY route whatsoever, IVAO, VATSIM or
GlobalSIM, in
fact if you have flown it in FS you can log it here at OA. Even if you just spent
half an hour messing around in a Cessna!
After you've finished your assignment/flight you will have to
fill out a PIREP or Flightlog. This is
to let us know how long you've been in the air and further details about your flight.
Your flight hours will be added to your totals, these totals effect your
ranking. Please read
the Orange Air Operations Manual
for more detailed information concerning Orange Air procedures. When
you join us you will receive a message from Head Quarters informing you about your
Pilot ID and everything you should know to be a good Orange Air pilot.
It is important that you fly regularly, you should understand that it's a lot of
hard work for us to run Orange Air. It's not very nice if we discover
that nobody is ever making the flights! We have no hard and fast rules here
at Orange Air, except one. If you don't fly, and log, at least one
flight every 60 days of your membership, you will be removed from the Pilot Roster.
New pilots, with zero hours, are expected to log their first flight within 14 days
of joining. If you cannot fly for a period of time then please inform
Head Quarters and
place your self on-leave.
When you join it's also important that you download the excellent Orange Air
aircraft. They can be found at our Fleet Hanger.
Orange Air also encourages our pilots to fly on-line with real time Air Traffic Control on GlobalSIM or off-line A.T.C with the excellent Radar Contact. But this is NOT compulsory.
The last thing I want to tell you is that, when you join, it may take a few days until you receive a message from Head Quarters confirming your acceptance to Orange Air. This is due to the heavy workload at the office. I hope you will understand that we are all volunteers and not magicians!
If you have any questions about what you have just read, then please e-mail me at Head Quarters. Please note that to comply with European law, you must be at least 14 years old or older to join Orange Air.
Enjoy Your Flying with Orange Air...
